The Small Village of Kovalam, south of Chennai is a quite and peaceful one except for the 3 days where it is packed with surfers from different parts of the world. The covelong surf, music and yoga fest, a weekend long party organized at Covelong Surf Point by TT group and Earthsync. This is it's 4th year and saw the birth of a new competitive sport in India!

For the first time ever Slacklife.inc hosted the Slackline India Championship here at the Covelong Surf & Music Festival. Slacklining in India is at a very Nascent stage and is growing rapidly. This Championship was a reason to bring slackers from all over India together and help progress the sport. Athletes from Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Bangalore and few more places came down.
Samar Farooqui, slacker in chief at Slacklife Inc said;
"Slacklining is a very positive sport for individuals as well as communities. I am overwhelmed with the turn out that I got from the community of slackers. As a judge for the first slackline competition in India, I have seen a significant improvement in the skill level during the competition. I hope that these are the foundation stones to seeing an Indian athlete at the Slackline World Cup one day."
He is one of the pioneers in the sport in India and has helped build the community around the country a lot. The contest was judged by Samar himself, Arun Vasu (Chairman and Managing Director of TT group) and South African Cricket Legend Jonty Rhodes.
